What does this tool check?
The tool displays individual checks based on programmed formulas so families can compare them with their own tradition. Tam Tai, Kim Lau, Hoang Oc and Trach have varying interpretations; one formula does not represent every school, region or family practice.
How to read the results
Whose age should you enter?
First agree on who will represent the family in planning. This may be the relative coordinating the ceremony and construction; there is no universal rule requiring the eldest child or a particular gender. Enter the details of the person the family has chosen to consult.
Lunar and Gregorian dates, and data accuracy
A birth year alone cannot be converted reliably from Gregorian to lunar because Lunar New Year falls on different Gregorian dates. Enter the complete Gregorian date if known, or select lunar calendar and enter the full lunar date. For a leap month, select the correct leap month. If information is incomplete, the tool asks for it rather than guessing.
Date selection needs a separate check
Age checks and date selection are separate. Folk calendars use different systems and regional conventions; an automated list cannot guarantee a universally auspicious date. Review the specific factors shown by the date tool, then confirm with the ceremony lead or someone familiar with your family tradition.
Open the grave date toolFeng Shui does not replace site and technical checks
Before building, renovating or reinterring, confirm cemetery rules, grave location and dimensions, access, ground and drainage conditions, materials and construction plan. These directly affect safety, durability and schedule. An age lookup is only one customary reference.
Frequently asked questions
Should we proceed if the tool shows a conflict?
This is the output of a specific formula, not a prediction or mandatory instruction. Verify inputs, follow the family tradition and consider scheduling, cemetery rules and construction conditions.
Do we need to use another person’s age?
The tool does not automatically recommend using another person’s age. If the family has a specific ritual convention, agree on the representative with relevant relatives and the ceremony lead.
Can the tool identify a universally exact auspicious date?
There is no single auspicious-date standard shared by every school and region. Use the date tool to review stated criteria; confirm against the calendar and family tradition.
