Double granite memorials are designed for two burial positions within one coordinated composition. Rather than placing two unrelated single monuments side by side, the base, memorial bodies, headstones and central spacing should be resolved together.
For dimension planning, see double granite memorial dimensions. For the broader material guide, see granite memorials.
Why choose a coordinated double memorial?
- stone color and finish can be kept consistent across both positions;
- headstone height and base proportions are controlled as one system;
- the composition can be planned to suit the complete family plot;
- shared components may be used where appropriate to the design.
KANNO MĐ01 reference

MĐ01 is published at approximately 260 × 200 cm as a model reference. It is not a mandatory size for every site; changing the overall dimensions requires the headstone, base and central spacing to be rebalanced.
Shared or separate headstones?
Shared headstone composition
A shared headstone can unify the memorial visually but needs enough space for both sets of information without making the rear mass too heavy.
Separate headstones
Separate headstones provide more flexibility where the inscriptions differ significantly. Their height, material and design language should remain coordinated.
Material selection
Indian Black Granite works well with large flat planes and restrained contemporary design. It is not the only option; other granites can be used where the design, raw material and site conditions support them. For Indian stone fabricated in Vietnam, KANNO distinguishes Polished from India Plus – Super Polished.
Double memorial or two single memorials?
| Criterion | Double memorial | Two single memorials |
|---|---|---|
| Composition | One coordinated design | Each memorial remains independent |
| Headstones and base | Can be linked or coordinated | Separate systems |
| Planning | Requires a plot that suits the full combined width | Can offer more flexibility in spacing |
How to select a double granite memorial

- Choose shared or separate headstones.
- Select granite, color and finish.
- Resolve the base, central spacing and overall proportion.
- Check front standing space, paths and surrounding graves.
- Review transport and installation access.
- Approve drawings and material specification before fabrication.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. The combined base, headstone system, central relationship and overall proportions should be designed as one composition.
Not necessarily. Shared components, larger stone pieces and different transport requirements mean it should be priced from its own design.
Yes. A shared headstone is one option, provided the information layout and proportions work for both positions.
